General Paper Department

The General paper Department is specific for S.5 and S.6 only. S.5 has lessons focused on communication skills. S.6 has upper school lectures; Guest speakers are hosted every Monday at 3.30pm-4.45pm. Topical issues like HIV/AIDS, environmental protection, science and technology are handled.

Lectures term II 2008;

a) Earnest Katwesigye, OB-Mutesa house-works with the IGG, topic to lecture is the death penalty
b) Dr. Edward Kayondo, OB-South Africa house, to lecture the Budo history with focus on the Alumni
c) Dr. Moses Musaazi, OB-Canada house-faculty of technology MUK, to lecture science and technology.

It is a compulsory subject for both S.5 and S.6 (A’ levels). It leads to a subsidiary pass at the end of the two year course.

Guest speakers make research and present their papers. Copies of such are left behind after their presentations

The department has hosted big names like;

a) Justice Faith Mwondha in 2007, she is the IGG
b) Hon Maria Matembe, out spoken woman activist, focused on corruption in Uganda.

Teachers in the department of GP

1. Edison Walusimbi          B.Ed, Dip Ed
2. Victor Ntanzi                   B.A Ed
3. Stella Kiryabwire            B.A Ed
4. Gasterrus Kakaire            B.A Ed
5. Yayeri kakundira             B.Ed
6. Godfrey Azahure             B.A Ed

Opportunities for GP in Budo
a) So many old students who are able and willing to lecture in various fields.
b) Well placed parents who can also offer their services-free of charge

The biggest challenge for the department is low students’ motivation since they are aiming at just one point.

Over the years King's College Budo, true to its founders' vision, has recognised excellent performance in different fields; games and sports, agriculture, academics, being helpful, music and drama, debate, etc.

This recognition culminates in our cherished annual prize giving ceremonies. We have gone a step further by recognising excellent contribution by our former students, by awarding them the prestigious Budo ORDER OF MERIT.”

King's College Budo's vision is “To be the hub for the best informed global co-education with a christian influence” and our mission is “to provide quality education through networking & teamwork in order to address global trends ”

At Budo we aim at teaching our students the root values of integrity, honesty, niceness & hard work other than the fruit values of power, prestige & prosperity. "Headmaster
