Mr. Patrick Baka Male - Headmaster Kings College Budo 2008...

Headteacher: I’m glad to be back home having been away for a period of six years, I joined this great school in 1976 and since then, I have continuously and diligently served in all capacities from being Mail Collector, Time Keeper, Sub-Lamper, Head Prefect, Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher and now head master. The period I was away has helped me enrich my experience and exposed me to different systems other than Budo. While in Muntuyera high school, I did not only serve as Headmaster of another head school, but also I was involved in lots of community-based activities.

From Muntuyera, I went on to head Mengo S.S.S as well as Chairman of the Laity of Namirembe Cathedral where I have been greatly enriched, exposed and experienced.

I return to Budo to continue the good work my predecessor Mr. George William Semivule has set up. My main guiding principal is to focus on the roots, not the fruits. In other words, we should aim at teaching our students the root values of integrity, honesty, niceness and hard work other than the fruit values of power, prestige and prosperity.
I also believe in teamwork and inspiring others to achieve the best possible.
I look forward to a closer relationship between staff, parents and all stakeholders.

Where next?

King’s College,Budo celebrated 102 years on March 30th 2008.so the Question of where next becomes relevant. The question of Budo being an African school has been surpassed by all standards and recasting it is definitely the next thing. The consideration of globalization and information era are so much in consideration, combined with a great focus on the roots rather than the fruit values of life.

The root values include include Hardwork, fearing God, Honesty, Integrity etc

The fruit values that will and should come if we focus on the roots are Power, Prestige, Prosperity etc So where next??
1. Re-cast the vision to cater for Globalisation and Information era
2. Focus on the root values
3. Bear the good fruit

In the spirit of Gakyali Mabaga
